Previous year's minimum wage + CPI* + 1%

*CPI as reported by Statistics SA available six weeks before the increases become effective.

The CPI (Excluding Owner’s Equivalent Rent) as reported by Statistic South Africa on 16 February 2011 is 3,6%. The determination stipulates that in order to determine the minimum wage increase for 2011, CPI + 1% will be utilized. This therefore mean that the increase for the Forestry Worker is 4,6% for 2011.
